The Dental Chronicles

Welcome to my Dental Chronicles. This blog describes my experiences as I worked towards fixing my bite through orthodontics and surgery.

When I was first deciding to have jaw (maxillofacial) surgery, which will be described in the next 1 or 2 entries, I searched on the Internet for others who had gone through similar procedures. I was interested in learning about risks, recovery, and results, but found very little in terms of personal experiences rather than the common Before & After photos. I realize that there are many people that may find my experiences useful -- perhaps in their own decisions to undergo surgery, perhaps for other reasons. It is for these people, as well as for myself to remember what I had gone through, that I created this blog.

It has been almost two years since my initial consultation, so I am composing entries from rehashed memories, with the aid of photos I had taken along the way. Certain dates and time frames will not be exact, however I'll do my best to be as accurate as I can. I will also have progressive photos available to those who are seriously interested (because looking into another person's mouth is not the most pleasant thing to do). Over the next short while, I will attempt to describe what I have endured over the last 2 years. Thereafter, we'll be working in real-time as the REAL fun and results begin.

In any case, I hope you find this blog helpful -- and I encourage your feedback.
